
Corbin Named Big South Volleyball Freshman of the Week

Liberty University setter Kallie Corbin has been honored as the New Balance Big South Freshman of the Week after leading the Lady Flames volleyball team to a 2-0 weekend and recording the first triple-double by a Big South player this season.
Corbin (Fr., S, Beaverton, Ore.) tallied 98 assists, 30 digs, 20 kills, nine blocks and a .391 attack percentage on the week as Liberty defeated conference rivals Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern. The Lady Flames' pair of victories boosted the team into a tie for third place in the Big South standings at 3-2.
Corbin got her weekend started with 45 assists, 13 digs, eight kills and four block assists in Friday evening's 3-1 victory over Coastal Carolina. Her triple-double came during Sunday's thrilling, 3-2 triumph over Charleston Southern. The freshman recorded the best single-match totals of her young career in assists (53), kills (12) and block assists (5), while adding 17 kills to complete the first triple-double by a Liberty player in over a year. Corbin's attack percentage against the Lady Buccaneers was a dazzling .407.
Liberty will now step outside the conference for a Tuesday evening match at UNC Greensboro. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Fleming Gym.
