Anthony Wedel assumed his current role as Ticket Office Associate in May 2024.
In his current role, he assists with daily office tasks and is an assistant supervisor for Graduation, Donation Requests, Theatre, Women’s Basketball and Division I Hockey. Wedel also assist full-time staff in ticket operations duties and helps with software and equipment management and repairs. Finally, he oversees part-time staff, including but not limited to interns, practicum students and CSER staff for events.
Prior to assuming his current position, Wedel served as Director of Operations for the Liberty Men’s Division II Hockey program from Jan. 2023-May 2024 as well as an Equipment Manager for the program from Jan. 2022-May 2024. In the Director of Operations Role, he managed the team schedule, including practices, games, team events and academic events. Additionally, he maintained player records with statistics and personal information for 25 players. Wedel oversaw the recruiting, interviewing and managing of practicum and integration student workers and assisted help manage the team budget and travel.
In his Equipment Manager role, Wedel managed all daily practice and game activities as well as equipment readiness and repairs. Wedel kept an up-to-date inventory gear, apparel and supplies and communicated with the 25 players to ensure correct sizing on all gear and apparel. He coordinated gear and apparel orders with outside vendors such as Bauer and BSN. Finally, Wedel assisted with hospitality for Liberty’s D2 Showcase for four teams and over 100 participants.
Wedel was the Liberty Division II Hockey Spiritual Leader and also earned the Liberty Division II Hockey Unsung Hero Award presented in recognition of the immeasurable value brought to the team.
Wedel earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management: sport outreach from Liberty in May 2024, graduating with summa cum laude distinction. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sport management: sport administration at Liberty. Wedel expects to finish grad school in May 2026.
Originally from Newton, Kan., Wedel currently resides in Lynchburg.
