Student-Athlete Q&A
How did you end up at Liberty?
Coach Lang saw me play at a showcase I fell in love with the campus environment, I committed here.
Â
What stood out about it?
I love that it was a Christian school I felt I could grow my faith, that's what I loved about the school.
Â
How important is your faith to you in your everyday life? RespondentÂ
My faith is very important to me. It guides my decisions and helps me stay grounded. I rely on it for strength and comfort, especially during challenging times. It also plays a significant role in how I interact with others and approach life's challenges. It's my whole life. I love Jesus. He died for our sins, every day that I grow closer to him, I feel more fulfilled in my life.
Â
Tell me about when you started playing soccer and how important it is to you.
I started playing soccer when I was three years old; it became a big part of my life. I fell in love with the game compared to all the other sports I played, I've loved it ever since.
Â
What are your earliest memories of being out there kicking the ball around?
When I would lose, I would cry when I was 4 years old, I said the team would cheat, I knew that I was a competitor early, I needed to keep playing this sport.
Â
Any family members that have played college or pro sports?
I have no family members who played college or pro sports, but my mom did play soccer when she was younger, that's why I was put into it as well.
Â
Did you play other sports growing up?
I did dance gymnastics for a little bit, but I hated it. I loved soccer, I just stuck to that.
Â
Tell me about your parents, your siblings. What, what do they do?
I have a dad and a mom. My dad is an accountant. My mom is a nurse. I have two younger sisters, one named Adriana and the other one named Madeleine.
Â
What are you doing outside of soccer?
I actually love to read. I've actually read 60 books this year. Any time in my free time, I choose to read.
Â
What is your favorite type of book to read and your favorite book that you've read so far?
I like all types of books, but I've been reading classics. I think my favorite classic so far is Pride and Prejudice.
Â
Anything up to this point in life that you've been through that could be some adversity?
I wasn't. I've always grown up as a Christian. Before I became a Christian, about the beginning of my junior year, I felt really lost and sad. I had a lot of hardships in my life. But when I fully gave my life to Jesus, my life just sparked back up. I felt I had purpose because he gave me purpose.
Â
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
My mom has inspired me the most! Seeing my mom switch careers from a pilot to a nurse she has truly inspired me to work as hard as possible.
Â
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
Winning the GA Southwest Conference 3x in a row was truly memorable because I accomplished it with the same girls my whole club career.
- Did not compete for Highland but played with SC Del Sol in Phoenix, Ariz.
- Led her club to four consecutive Southwest Conference Championships
- Selected to the 2024 GA (girls academy) Southwest Conference Talent ID roster by TopDrawerSoccer.com
- Represents the second athlete from SC Del Sol, following Presley Kaiser
