Jodie Conolly stepped into her role as Liberty Field Hockey Graduate Assistant in Aug. 2024.
Conolly joins the staff after playing for Liberty for four seasons (spring 2021-23). Conolly enjoyed a highly successful career while at Liberty and was named a 2023 NFHCA All-America first team member, the fifth first team All-American in program history. She was also the 2023 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year. Conolly’s other numerous accolades during her time as a Lady Flame include: four-time NFHCA All-South Region (two first team, two second team), four-time All-BIG EAST (two first team, two second team), two-time BIG EAST All-Tournament team, three-time VaSID All-State team (two first team, one second team), five-time BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week (four in 2023 season), three-time BIG EAST All-Academic team, two-time NFHCA National Academic Squad and four-time BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Conolly helped Liberty win BIG EAST Championship titles in 2021 (fall) and 2022 and BIG EAST regular season crowns in 2021 (fall), 2022 and 2023. She was part of the Liberty team that won a school-record 20 games and made the national championship game during the fall 2021 campaign. In 2023, Conolly notched career bests in goals (11) and points (34) while ranking second on the team in assists per game (12, tied for career best) during the 2023 season. She finished the year 10th in the country in assists per game (0.60) and 18th in the nation in points per game (1.70). Conolly, a defender, helped the Lady Flames finish second in the nation in goals-against-average (0.91) in 2023 and led the team with two defensive saves.
Conolly wrapped up her Liberty playing career with 28 goals (No. 9 in program history), 34 assists (tied for No. 4 in program history) and 90 points (No. 9 in program history) in four seasons.
Conolly earned a bachelor’s degree from Liberty in industrial & systems engineering in May 2023 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration with a cognate in project management, which she expects to complete in May 2025.
