
Liberty Heads to Radford for Tuesday Match

LYNCHBURG, Va. -Â Liberty (3-3) heads to take on former Big South rival Radford (2-4), Tuesday at the Dedmon Center.

- The Lady Flames posted a 1-1 record at their home tournament, Liberty Mountain Madness, over the weekend. Liberty swept Lamar before falling in four sets to three-time defending Big South champion High Point. Middle blockers Laney Daniell and Layla Collins combined to average 4.85 kills per set at a .542 clip.
- Radford, which was predicted to finish sixth in the Big South preseason coaches poll, went 1-2 at the Georgia Southern Tournament on the weekend, beating Prairie View A&M 3-1 before falling to both Eastern Kentucky (3-2) and Georgia Southern (3-0).
- On Sept. 15, 2025 in Lynchburg, Liberty overcame a 2-1 match deficit to beat Radford in five sets, with Carly O'Brien (19), Jenna Otts (18) and Paige Overcash (16) all topping 15 kills. Liberty is 10-2 in five-set matches under second-year Head Coach Jeremy White.
- Liberty was predicted to finish second in the 2026 CUSA Preseason Volleyball Coaches Poll. 2025 CUSA All-Conference second-teamers Carly O'Brien, Jenna Otts and Paige Overcash were all voted to the CUSA Preseason All-Conference Team.
- Sophomore middle blocker Laney Daniell has been Liberty's top attacker so far this season, averaging a team-best 2.83 kills per set while tying for second in CUSA with a .444 attack percentage.
- Freshman libero Melis Ural ranks seventh in CUSA with 3.52 digs per set, and she has reached double figures in digs in each of the last four matches.
- Three Lady Flames (Laney Daniell, Layla Collins, Addison Hart) have all recorded their first career 10-kill match this season.
