Lady Flames Post 3-0 Sweep at Radford

RADFORD, Va. – Liberty hit a season-best .400, sweeping Radford 3-0 (25-19, 28-26, 25-16) on Tuesday at the Dedmon Center.
The Lady Flames improve to 4-3 on the season with the win, while the Highlanders fall to 2-5.
Notable Numbers
The Lady Flames will travel to Hempstead, N.Y., to compete in a tournament hosted by Hofstra, Friday and Saturday. Liberty will take on both Army (noon) and Hofstra (4 p.m.) on Friday before facing Fairfield at 1 p.m., Saturday.
The Lady Flames improve to 4-3 on the season with the win, while the Highlanders fall to 2-5.
Notable Numbers
- Liberty outhit Radford .400-.277 for the match, as Liberty also led in kills (52-43), aces (5-3) and digs (52-37). Both teams posted three blocks.
- Jenna Otts hit .577 with a match-high 15 kills, while Paige Overcash sent down 11 kills. Laney Daniell scored 10 kills at a .692 pace, while Carly O'Brien totaled eight kills and nine digs. Alison Bierwagen recorded a double-double with 36 assists and 13 digs to go along with two aces. Melis Ural collected a match-high 15 digs.
- Macie Potter scored 11 kills to lead Radford, while Addison Cunnagin and Olivia Ryno both scored eight kills. Lea Gage dished out 20 assists, while Mia Jannazzo collected nine digs.
- Liberty overcame a 9-3 deficit in the second set. The Lady Flames later led 24-23 before Radford tied it up. Otts gave Liberty set-point chances with kills at 25-24, 26-25 and 27-26. Laney Daniell then clinched the 28-26 win and 2-0 match lead with a kill.
- The Lady Flames raced out to a 14-3 lead in the third set, claiming the match with a 25-16 win.
- Liberty leads Radford 48-33 all-time in volleyball, with the Lady Flames winning each of the last three meetings. Prior to tonight, Liberty's last 3-0 victory at Radford was Oct. 7, 2008.
- Liberty's .400 attack percentage was its highest hitting percentage since attacking at a .440 pace against Louisiana Tech, Sept. 26, 2025.
- Daniell has reached double figures in kills in five out of the last six matches, and has hit .600 or better in three straight contests.
