LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty Women's Soccer and Head Coach Lang Wedemeyer have made the addition of local product, Gabby Magee, to the 2026 roster official. Magee is a midfielder from Lynchburg, Va., and is the sister of Kayla Magee, a former Lady Flame defender (2024-25).
Magee attended Jefferson Forest High School, where she was a first-team all-state selection her junior season. She graduated early following her junior year, foregoing her senior year to join the Lady Flames for the 2026 season.
"We are excited to have Gabby joining our soccer family," Wedemeyer said. "She comes from an athletic family and knows what it will take to be successful at the college level. Her athleticism and field awareness should help her make a solid impact for our program."
The midfielder is a two-time first-team all-district and all-region selection (2024, 25). She was named the Seminole District Player of the Year her junior season.
In her final season at Jefferson Forest, she provided a consistent defensive presence while contributing over 20 goals. She led her squad to a 13-0-1 region record. The Lady Cavaliers' impressive season came to a close in the regional semifinal.
Magee has also competed for two clubs. Before moving to Lynchburg, she played with Wilmington Hammerheads FC (2021-23). She later attended Skyline Elite, based in Charlottesville, Va.
A family affair continues at Liberty; her father, Skylor Magee, is the current Defensive Line Coach for Liberty Football. He will be entering his fourth season at Liberty this fall.
Magee will follow in the footsteps of her older sister, Kayla Magee, who transferred to Liberty for her final two collegiate seasons from South Carolina. The former defender appeared in 39 games and made 34 starts at Liberty. She was named to the 2024 Conference USA All-Conference first team and to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region second team that same season.
Liberty is preparing to defend its 2026 CUSA Championship title and will look towards Magee as a contributor. The Lady Flames open the season at home on August 13 from Osborne Stadium.
