LYNCHBURG, VA. – The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs downed the Liberty Flames 9-3 in the opener of their three-game series on Friday at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
The Bulldogs plated three runs in the third inning and led the rest of the way in the victory.
The Flames closed to within two runs in the sixth but never got closer in the contest.
Shortstop Tanner Marsh and designated hitter Landon Scilley each had two hits in the game to lead Liberty.
Liberty drops its second consecutive game. The Flames fall to 18-7 in Conference USA and 35-15 overall. LA Tech moves to 16-9 in conference play and 30-21 overall.
