After leading the Flames to an NCAA Regional final in 2026, Liberty has signed Head Baseball Coach Bradley LeCroy to a new contract extension.
Liberty University and LeCroy have agreed on a contract extension that will keep him on the Mountain through the 2031 season.
LeCroy's second year in Lynchburg saw the Flames match a program record for win after finishing the 2026 campaign at 43-21.
Liberty's win total tied the program record also set by the Flames in 2010 and 2019. The Flames capped off the stellar season by participating in an NCAA Regional for the ninth time in program history, receiving its fourth at-large selection to the 64-team field.
The Flames advanced to their third regional final in program history before being eliminated by College World Series-bound Georgia.
In addition, the Flames went 21-9 in Conference USA play, finishing second in the league standings. For the first time in its three years in the conference, Liberty advanced to the CUSA Championship game.
In addition, the Flames posted the eighth best road record in the country in 2026, finishing the season with a 19-7 away from Lynchburg.
Under LeCroy's leadership, the Flames had four players selected in the 2026 MLB Draft, spotlighted by a second-round selection for right-handed pitcher Ben Blair.
The 2026 CUSA Pitcher of the Year was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays with the 49th overall selection in the draft, Liberty's second highest MLB Draft pick in program history.
Joining Blair as MLB Draft picks in 2026 were shortstop Tanner Marsh (Athletics – 9th Round/261st pick), right-handed pitcher Tyler August (Athletics – 16th round/471st pick) and left-handed pitcher (Colorado Rockies – 17th round/494th pick).
Liberty finished the 2026 season ranked No. 13 in the country fielding percentage (98.1), No. 20 in walks (322), No. 21 in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.61), No. 23 in win-loss percentage (67.2), No. 27 in shutouts (4), No. 27 in triples (16) and No. 30 in walks allowed per nine innings (3.57).
In his first season at Liberty in 2025, LeCroy led Liberty to its first winning season since 2022 with the Flames posting a 30-27 record.
