
Liberty Defeats New Mexico State to Complete Suspended Game

The game was suspended on Friday night after four innings due to rain, with the score tied 3-3.
When the game resumed in the top of the fifth, Liberty took the lead in its first at-bat with a run in the top of the fifth inning and then sent all nine men to the plate to hit, tacking on four runs in the top of the seventh inning for an 8-4 advantage, never looking back.
Flames right-hander Josh Swink took over on the mound today and went the rest of the way. He allowed one run on four hits over the final five innings.
Liberty designated hitter Landon Scilley went 3-for-4 with four RBI and scored four runs. He was joined by Flames catcher Kyle Hvidsten, who also went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Flames shortstop
Tanner Marsh also had three hits, drove in two runs and scored a run.
The Flames, winners of four straight games, move to 16-6 in Conference USA and 33-13 overall. The Aggies fall to 8-14 in conference and 19-25 overall.
