LYNCHBURG, VA. – The Liberty Flames topped the Charlotte 49ers 12-2 in a game halted in the seventh inning due to run-rule on Tuesday evening at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
Liberty first baseman Jaxon Sorenson had three hits, including his fourth home run of the season and ended the game with an RBI single in the seventh inning. He collected four RBI and scored twice.
Right fielder Riley DeCandido had two hits and walked twice to reach base in each of his at bats in the game, knocking in a run and scoring two runs for the Flames.
Liberty second baseman Ethan Swofford added two hits and an RBI for the Flames.
Liberty moves to 32-13 on the season. Charlotte drops to 20-24.
