
Liberty Routs DBU in Series Opener

Trailing 2-1 early in the game, Liberty sent 10 men to the plate in the third inning to score six runs on five hits to take a 7-2 lead. The Flames followed the second with nine runs on eight hits in the fourth inning, sending 13 to the plate for a commanding 16-2 advantage.
Liberty scores a season-high for runs in a game in back-to-back contests. The Flames plated 17 in a 17-7 win at Duke on Tuesday.
Flames first baseman Jaxon Sorenson led the offensive barrage by going 4-for-5 with a home run, his third of the season, and a double, driving in three runs and scoring two runs.
Liberty second baseman Easton Swofford added two hits, including a two-run home run in the third, his first home run of the year, and four RBI in the game.
Liberty has won seven straight road games and 12 of its last 13 games. The Flames take sole possession of third place in the CUSA standings, moving to 12-4 in conference and 27-10. DBU drops to 11-5 in CUSA play and 21-16.
