LYNCHBURG, VA. – The Liberty Flames plated five runs in the second inning and never looked back in a 9-3 victory over the Harvard Crimson on Friday at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium. With the victory, the Flames extend their winning streak to seven games.
In the home half of the second, Liberty took advantage of five walks and two hit batters to score five runs. The Flames sent 11 men to the plate in the inning.
Meanwhile, Liberty starting pitcher Ben Blair pitched five scoreless innings, allowing three hits. He struck out 10 and did not walk a batter.
Liberty moves to 9-3 on the season. Harvard drops to 0-7.
