LYNCHBURG, Va. – Brynn McManus hit a grand slam during a five-run sixth inning as Liberty rallied for a 9-6 win and series victory over Delaware, Sunday at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium.
With the win, Liberty improves to 16-17, 9-3 in Conference USA play. Meanwhile, the Blue Hens fall to 16-19, 5-7 in conference games. The Lady Flames won games one and three, while the Blue Hens claimed game two, Saturday.

Turning Point
- Liberty took a 4-1 lead after one inning before Delaware scored five times in the middle innings.
- Trailing 6-4, Paige Doerr hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the sixth. Savannah Nash followed with a double. After one out, Ella Fox executed a squeeze bunt, pushing Doerr across. Savannah Jessee drew a one-out walk, before McManus launched a go-ahead grand slam for a 9-6 lead.
- Liberty outhit Delaware 8-6 for the game. The Lady Flames committed three errors, while the Blue Hens recorded two errors. Delaware left eight runners on base, while Liberty stranded six.
- Camden Anders (8-2) earned the win, allowing six runs (five earned), walking three and striking out five.
- Delaware reliever Karli Challburg (4-3) drew the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits, walking two and striking out two in five innings of relief.
- McManus batted 3-for-4 with a homer, four RBI and two runs scored. Dani Lee went 1-for-2 with two walks and one run scored, while Brooke Roberts batted 1-for-2 with two RBI. Savannah Nash hit a pinch-hit double, while Ella Fox, Maci Strickland and Paige Doerr had one RBI apiece.
- Alli Nankivell went 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored for Delaware, while Kristen Luzon batted 2-for-4 with one RBI. Bridget Chapman batted 1-for-3 with a double, one RBI and one run scored.
- Liberty leads Delaware 5-3 in the all-time series in softball.
- The Lady Flames are 4-14 when trailing after five innings this season. Today marked Liberty's sixth come-from-behind win of the year.

- Fox' hitting streak was snapped at nine games, which is the longest hitting streak by a Lady Flame so far this season.
- McManus hit her second career grand slam and first since May 9, 2024 against UTEP. She is the first Lady Flame to hit a grand slam since Rachel Roupe, May 18, 2025 at No. 1 Texas A&M.
