
Lady Flames Power to 9-1 6-Inning Win Over Miners

The Lady Flames clinched the series victory with their sixth straight win, improving to 13-15 on the season, 6-2 in Conference USA play. The Miners fall to 9-18, 1-7 in conference contests.

Turning Point
- Liberty broke the game open in the top of the fifth inning. Leading 3-0, Paige Doerr hit a three-run homer to double the lead to 6-0. One pitch later, Maci Strickland launched a solo home run.
- For the second night in a row, Liberty outhit UTEP 11-4. The Miners committed one error. The Lady Flames left six runners on base, compared to four stranded by UTEP.
- Camden Anders (5-1) earned the win, allowing one run on three hits, walking three and striking out four in 4 1/3 innings. Gabby Mike pitched 1 2/3 innings of one-hit relief.
- Arianna Flores (0-4) drew the loss, yielding five runs (four earned) on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings before giving way to Hannah Jones and Ryann Presswood.
- Brynn McManus went 2-for-3 with a homer, two RBI and one runs scored, while Maci Strickland batted 2-for-3 with a homer, one RBI and one run. Ella Fox went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run, while Paige Doerr batted 1-for-3 with a homer, three RBI and two runs scored. Aubrey Fulcher hit a pinch-hit homer.
- Kenna Carranza homered for UTEP's lone run.
- Liberty is now 9-1 all-time against UTEP in softball, including 4-1 at Helen on Troy Softball Complex.
- Liberty has scored eight or more runs in each of the last six games, doing so for the first time since April 18-21, 2010.
- Doerr tied her career high with three RBI, as she also drove in three runs against Marist, May 16, 2025.
- Aubrey Fulcher hit her first career homer, a pinch-hit long ball in the sixth. She is the 11th active Lady Flame to hit at least one career home run. Last night, Dani Lee connected for her first career home run, also in a pinch-hitting situation.
- Liberty's four home runs tonight were the most by the Lady Flames since hitting five homers in game two of a doubleheader at WKU, March 14, 2025.
This weekend's series wraps up tomorrow, as the Lady Flames and Miners square off at 1 p.m. ET (11 a.m. MT) at Helen of Troy Softball Complex.
