
Liberty Extends Win Streak to 10, Downs UNCG in Slugfest 12-10

In the ninth, with the Flames leading 12-9, Liberty saw host UNCG load the bases with one out. However, right-hander Tyler August retired the next three Spartans, striking out the final batter to close out the 12-10 victory.
Moore and DeCandido each hit a two-run and a solo home run in the contest, driving in three runs apiece. Each Flame has now hit three home runs on the season. Flames center fielder Josh Campos also hit his third home run of the year.
Liberty shortstop Tanner Marsh went 4-for-6 with a run scored and two stolen bases to pace the Flames at the plate.
Left fielder Nick Barone went 3-for-4 with two walks and two RBI. He also scored three times for Liberty.
Liberty moves to 12-3 on the season. UNCG drops to 6-11.

- Marsh extended his hitting streak to 12 games with his four-hit game. The shortstop also has reached base safely in every game this season. Marsh recorded his first four-hit game and his fifth multi-hit contest of the year. The shortstop is tied for the Liberty lead and led the Flames in multiple-hit games last season.

Liberty returns home to Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium to begin Conference USA play. The Flames will host conference newcomer Missouri State in a three-game series beginning Friday. The first pitch on Friday is scheduled for 4 p.m.
