
Lacrosse Hosts No. 24 Virginia in Midweek Matchup

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty seeks its first win of the season (0-2) when it plays host to No. 24 Virginia (0-3) on Wednesday at 4 p.m. from the Liberty Lacrosse Field.
The Cavaliers are also seeking their first mark in the win column, including two losses to ranked opponents (No. 16 Navy, 12-10 and No. 6 Maryland, 17-9.
The Lady Flames are in the midst of opening the season with four consecutive home meetings. Liberty opened the season with a loss against No. 8 Johns Hopkins (17-7) in its home opener and fell to Davidson (13-6) on Sunday.
Liberty also seeks its first-ever win against Virginia in their third all-time meeting. The Lady Flames opened the 2025 season at No. 9 Virginia, suffering a 20-5 defeat.

- Freshman Sophia Nesci has begun the season with a team-leading three goals, three assists and three points. The mark is the most in the first two games of a season since Cami Merkel (2022-25) recorded five goals and an assist in her first pair of games in 2022.
