LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty begins the season with an 0-2 record after falling to Davidson 13-6 on a rainy Sunday afternoon at the Liberty Lacrosse Field.
The Wildcats surged ahead with a five-goal first quarter and kept control throughout. Despite Liberty's six goals, including a short-handed effort in the first half, Davidson's offensive edge was too much to overcome.
Davison's Jenna Skibbe led all players with six goals while two Wildcats, Keira Best and Kailyn Uller, each secured four points.
Olivia Young led Liberty with three goals, including a shorthanded effort, highlighting her offensive prowess. Nesci was pivotal, scoring twice and assisting another, converting both of her shots on goal. Doyle's single goal from her only attempt added to the Lady Flames' tally. Goalie Rachel Hines faced 28 shots, making eight saves.
Both Liberty losses this season have come at home. The Lady flames will seek its first win of the season hosting No. 12 Virginia on Wednesday.
