
Liberty Goes 1-1 on Saturday in Tuscaloosa

The Lady Flames are now 2-8 on the season, including 2-2 this weekend. Alabama (9-0) beat both Purdue and Liberty today to improve to 4-0 at the Easton Bama Bash. Georgia Southern (3-5) takes on Purdue later this evening.
Alabama was ranked No. 8 in this week's Softball America Top 25, appearing 10th in both the NFCA and D1Softball polls and 13th in the USA Softball Top 25. The Lady Flames were listed among "others receiving votes in both the USA Softball and NFCA polls on Tuesday.

- Both teams got a runner to third with nobody out in the first and failed to score. The Tide struck for four runs in the second and held a 4-0 lead going into the bottom of the fifth.
- Three Alabama singles set up Audrey Vandagriff, whose grand slam ended the game in run-rule fashion.
- Alabama held an 8-1 advantage in hits. The hosts committed two errors, compared to one for the guests. The Crimson Tide left seven runners on base, while Liberty stranded four.
- Vic Moten improved to 5-0 with a one-hit shutout, walking one and fanning five.
- Katie Love (0-2) drew the loss, allowing three runs on two hits, walking four in one inning. Caitlyn Nesbitt yielded one unearned run in one inning pitched, before Camden Anders gave up four run in 1 1/3 innings of work.
- Vandagriff batted 2-for-5 with a double, homer, five RBI and two runs scored, while Brooke Wells went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI.
- Paige Doerr recorded Liberty's lone hit in the game.Â
- Alabama leads Liberty 7-2 in the all-time softball series, including 5-0 at Rhoads Stadium. Liberty won the previous two meetings heading into this season, defeating the Tide in both 2023 in Huntington, W.Va. and 2025 in Clearwater, Fla.
- Current Liberty graduate assistant Savannah Woodard played for Alabama from 2020 through 2022 before playing for Liberty from 2023 through 2025.

- Liberty scored once in the first inning, and the score remained 1-0 until the Lady Flames homered twice during a five-run sixth.
- Georgia Southern's Carley Ramsden broke up Gabby Mike's shutout bid with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the seventh.Â
- Liberty outhit Georgia Southern 15-3 for the game, with the Eagles committing the game's lone error. The Lady Flames left 10 runners on base with GSU stranded five.
- Gabby Mike (1-4) earned her first career win, allowing one run on three hits, walking one and fanning four. She is the first Lady Flame to go the distance this season.
- Bailey Holland (2-2) drew the loss, allowing five runs on 12 hits, walking one and fanning two in 5 1/3 innings. Hannah Worthington gave up one run in 1 2/3 innings.
