Liberty Kicks off 2025-26 Season at Rod Myers Invitational

The Flames jumpstart their 2025-26 season this weekend at the Rod Myers Invitational, the first of four events on Liberty's fall schedule.

Traditionally a two-day event, this Duke hosted tournament has been stretched to a three-day event and returns to the Duke University Golf Club (par 72, 7,154 yards) in Durham, N.C.

Play gets underway Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. with the first 18 holes of action, followed by two additional 18-hole rounds on Saturday and Sunday.

This event has been a staple of Liberty's fall schedule. This will be the 10th time the Flames have participated in the event, which started in 2010.

The Flames played in this tournament for seven-straight seasons (2012-18). Liberty also returned to the event in 2022 and 2024, posting a pair of sixth-place finishes.

Last year, Liberty finished sixth out of 11 teams by carding a 2-over par 866 (284-292-29). The Flames were paced by Evan Barbin, who finished tied for fifth place with a 6-under par 210 (70-70-70).

Three other Flames who were also a part of Liberty's starting five at last year's Rod Myers Invitational are also returning β Ike Joy (T10 3-under par 213), Josh Ryan (T41 5-over par 221) and Michael Lugiano (51st 7-over par 223).

The Flames will be among the first teams to hit the course on Friday morning, going off the No. 1 tee at 8:30 a.m., along with golfers from North Carolina and tournament host Duke.

Outside of its starting five, the Flames will have three other golfers competing in the event as individuals β Andrew Gregory, Blake Hogan and Silas Haarer.
