
Blair Named to CUSA All-Conference 1st Team

LYNCHBURG, VA. – Liberty Flames starting pitcher Ben Blair was selected to the 2025 CUSA All-Conference first team, the conference announced this afternoon.
In addition, Liberty infielder Landon Scilley and pitcher Jack Frankel were named to the 2025 CUSA All-Freshman team.
The CUSA Conference head coaches selected the teams.
The Flames (30-25, 10-17 CUSA) are the host team for the 2025 CUSA Baseball Championship. The CUSA Baseball Championship will be held at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium, beginning on Wednesday.
Liberty is the No.8 seed for the double-elimination tournament and will face No. 1 seed Dallas Baptist in Game 3 on the first day of the championship. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Liberty All-Conference
Ben Blair – Soph., SP, Gretna, Va. (CUSA All-Conference First Team)
Blair earns his first all-conference selection. The sophomore from Gretna, Va., has made 14 starts in his first season as a starting pitcher. The right-hander has a 6-3 record with a 3.58 ERA over 78.0 innings. He has struck out 89 and walked 26.
Blair has posted career-highs in ERA, wins, innings pitched, strikeouts, and starts this season. The right-hander leads CUSA in innings pitched and strikeouts. He is also fifth in ERA and tied for fifth in wins.
The sophomore was one of three CUSA pitchers and one of 54 pitchers nationally to be named to the 2025 National Pitcher of the Year Watch List. He also picked up his first CUSA Pitcher of the Week honor of his career, pitching six shutout innings in his first start of the year, combining with relievers Caleb Lingenfelter and Tyler August for a 3-0 blanking of the St. John's Red Storm in game two of a doubleheader at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium on Feb. 14. The sophomore scattered five hits, striking out 11 and walking two batters. He did not allow a batter past second base during his outing.

Jack Frankel – Fr., RP, Plano, Texas (CUSA All-Freshmen Team)
Frankel has made 18 appearances in his first season of collegiate baseball for the Flames, all in relief. The right-hander has posted a 4-3 record with a 3.40 ERA over 45.0 innings. He has struck out 32 and walked 12. The freshman has held opponents to a .227 batting average this season.
Landon Scilley – Fr. INF/P, Maysville, Ky. (CUSA All-Freshmen Team)
Scilley has played in all 54 games this season, starting 53. The freshman has started at second base, third base, center field and designated hitter this season. The Maysville, Ky., native has hit .263 with 34 RBI and 29 runs scored. He has hit five home runs and has 10 stolen bases.
