LYNCHBURG, VA. – Liberty shortstop Tanner Marsh had three hits and two RBI, while center fielder Josh Campos drove in three runs with two hits, as the Flames downed the High Point Panthers 9-3 Wednesday afternoon at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
Marsh went 3-for-5 to lead all players in the contest in hits. The junior had a double and stole a base for the Flames and knocked in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning with a two-out infield single.
Campos tied the game with a two-run double in the fifth inning and lifted an RBI sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.
Five Liberty pitchers combined to hold High Point to four hits over nine innings. They combined to strike out 15.
Winners of back-to-back games, Liberty moves to 4-3 on the year. High Point drops to 5-4.
