LYNCHBURG, Va. – After striking out a career-high 12, Ben Blair has been named the CUSA Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
Blair gave up two runs on two hits over seven innings in a 7-2 victory over Hofstra to run his record to 2-1 on the season. He walked two batters in the contest, while posting his longest outing of 2026.
The junior right-hander's 12-strikeout game eclipses his previous high of 11. Both totals were achieved in a six-inning effort in a 3-0 win over St. John's on Feb. 14, 2025, and a seven-inning outing in a 5-4, 10-inning victory versus Middle Tennessee on April 5, 2025.
Blair combined with reliever Josh Swink to strike out a season-high 17 on Friday evening. The Gretna, Va. native helped the Liberty pitching staff finish the weekend with 28 total strikeouts.
