
No. 2 Liberty Opens ASUN Championship Hosting No. 3 Lindenwood

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Serving as the host site for the 2025 Atlantic Sun Women's Lacrosse Championship, No. 2 Liberty (10-7, 5-1 ASUN) opens the event taking on No. 3 Lindenwood (10-5, 3-3 ASUN) on Thursday at 4 p.m. The tournament will be played at the Liberty Lacrosse Field and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Tickets for the ASUN Championship can be found at https://liberty.evenue.net/events/CUSA-HOME. All Atlantic Sun students will get in free with a valid ID of the school they attend. All children under the age of three (3) will be admitted for free all weekend.
The Lady Flames closed the regular season with an 18-10 loss at Jacksonville on Saturday. The Dolphins secured the No. 1 seed and the ASUN Regular Season Championship with the victory.
The winner of Thursday's contest will qualify for the ASUN Championship final on Saturday at 1 p.m. They will meet the winner of Thursday's semifinal matchup between No. 1 Jacksonville and No. 4 Coastal Carolina at 1 p.m.
Liberty previously met Lindenwood at home this season on April 9. Attacker Cami Merkel tallied nine points with four goals and five assists to lead the Lady Flames to a 23-12 triumph.
The Lady Flames featured eight in the 2025 ASUN Women's Lacrosse Postseason Honors. Midfielder Katie Colavito and defender Jenna Burrow take home the Midfielder and Defensive Player of the Year awards, headlining 10 total awards received including three All-ASUN first team and three All-ASUN second team selections.
Colavito, Burrow and attacker Taiva Reinertson represented Liberty on the All-ASUN first team. Attacker Mackenzie Lehman, midfielder/draw specialist Ava Menna and defender Madeleine Klunder were recognized on the All-ASUN second team. Midfielder Olivia Young and defender Ava McGlothlin were each named to the ASUN All-Freshman team. Two Lady Flames, Colavito and Lehman, received inclusion on the Academic All-ASUN Team.
Liberty looks to stay undefeated against Lindenwood, currently 3-0 all-time facing the Lions.

- ASUN Midfielder of the Year Colavito tallied 29 goals and 16 assists for 45 points during the regular season. She finished second in ASUN with 31 caused turnovers (1.82 per game) and was second on Liberty and seventh in ASUN with 60 draw controls while collecting 33 ground balls.

- Ava Menna (147 draw controls, 8.65 per game) is threatening to unseat Lizzy Ferguson (182 draw controls, 9.58 per game) for the single-season draw control crown.
