
Kennesaw State Drops Liberty to Take Series

LYNCHBURG, VA. – Left fielder Nick Anderson drove in a school-record eight runs, powering the Kennesaw State Owls past the Liberty Flames 15-7 Sunday afternoon at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium. With the win, Kennesaw State takes the three-game series, two games to one.
Anderson set a Kennesaw State record with eight RBI in the game. The left fielder had three hits in the contest, a solo home run, a grand slam and a two-run double. He also walked and scored four times for the Owls.
Liberty jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings of play, plating three runs in the first and two in the second on right fielder Camden Troyer's two-run home run, his 10th of the year.
After scoring one in the third, Kennesaw State struck for six two-out runs. Anderson provided the big hit in the inning, a grand slam with the Owls trailing 5-2, to give the visitors the lead.
The Flames cut their deficit to one with a run in the fifth inning, but were not able to get any closer as the Owls answered with two runs in the sixth and four in the seventh.
Troyer had two hits and three RBI in the game for Liberty. Flames catcher Seth Christmas added three hits and scored a run.
