LAS CRUCES, N.M. - No. 21 Liberty claimed the series victory over New Mexico State with a 10-0, five-inning win on Saturday at NM State Softball Complex.
The Lady Flames (36-8) improve to 15-1 in Conference USA play with their fifth straight win, while the Aggies (21-19, 8-9) lost for the fifth game in a row.
Liberty was ranked No. 21 in both the Softball America and D1 Softball Top 25 Polls this week.

Turning Point
- The Lady Flames cashed in on NM State miscues, scoring four total earned runs. Liberty took a 4-0 lead with a four-run second inning before tacking on six in the fourth.
- Yoder quieted the Aggies' bats all game, fashioning the two-hit shutout. KK Madrey robbed Desirae Spearman of a home run with one out in the fifth inning.
- Liberty outhit New Mexico State 13-2 for the game, with the Aggies committing four errors.
- Kaylan Yoder (7-3) tossed her sixth career shutout and first of the season, allowing two hits while walking three and fanning five.
- Jaileen Mancha (1-3) drew the loss, allowing five runs (two earned) on seven hits with one walk in three innings before giving way to Zantelle Rodriguez and Taryn Bennett.
- Savannah Woodard and Brynn McManus both went 3-for-4 with one RBI for the Ladt Flames, while Rachel Roupe batted 2-for-4 with a double, homer, four RBI and one run scored. Savannah Jessee went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run, while KK Madrey stole her CUSA-leading 35th base and scored twice.
- Liberty leads NM State 7-3 in the all-time series, with the Lady Flames winning each of the last three meetings.
- The Lady Flames have won all 14 conference series since joining Conference USA last season.
- This was Liberty's 12th time this season scoring 10 or more runs, tying the program record for 10-run games, set in 2017.
- Today was the Lady Flames' eighth shutout of 2025, including fourth CUSA shutout.
- Paige Doerr improved her hitting streak to 11 games, while Roupe has reached base in each of the last 16 games and Savannah Woodard has reached in 13 games in a row.
