
Liberty Hosts Final Two Matches Before CUSA Championship

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Flames (8-12) prepare for a final tune-up before serving as the host site of the Conference USA Tennis Championships, taking on Delaware (12-6) on Friday at 3 p.m. and battling VCU (9-9) on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches from the Liberty Tennis Complex will be streamed via SwingVision.
Liberty will serve as the host site for both the CUSA Men's and Women's Tennis Championships from April 16-20. The Flames are in their second season playing in the league after finishing as runners-up in last year's championship final to Middle Tennessee.
The Flames are coming off a 1-1 trip, falling 5-2 to UNCW before besting Tulane 5-2. The team finished the regular season with a 5-8 record on the road. Liberty currently owns a 3-4 record at home with a 1-2 record playing outdoors.
Sunday's match will have a pre-match Senior Day Ceremony to recognize Joaquim Almeida and Trey Stinchcomb. Almeida will be facing his former team, VCU, on Senior Day. The senior played for the Rams from 2021-23.
The Flames are facing Delaware for the first time in program history. Liberty seeks its first-ever win against the Rams after eight meetings.
