
Liberty Falls to Elon 6-1

ELON, N.C. – The Liberty men's tennis team (6-10) fell 6-1 in a road mid-week match against Elon (5-6).
The Phoenix earned the doubles point with two victories on courts two and three. The No. 1 doubles match went unfinished where the Flames No. 53 doubles pair of Siwanat Auytayakul and Joaquim Almeida trailed 5-4 to Elon's Veljko Krstic and Oskar Antinheimo.
Elon quickly took control in singles, winning five of six first sets across singles. Rodrigo Santiago Arraez earned Liberty's lone point of the day with a commanding 6-3, 6-2 win against Jack Curtis in the No. 4 singles match. The sophomore leads the Flames with eight singles wins this spring.
The Phoenix's match-winning point came on court five as Charles Pilet defeated Ernst Gouws 6-4, 7-5.
