
New Mexico State Snaps Liberty’s 6-Winning Streak Saturday

The visiting Aggies jumped out to a 6-2 through the first six innings of the CUSA contest before seeing the Flames' rally to cut the visitors' edge to 7-5 in the seventh. However, New Mexico State answered the Liberty comeback attempt by adding to its lead to capture a 10-6 victory.
Flames shortstop Tanner Marsh had three hits and scored twice in the game. Third baseman Jaxon Sorenson collected two hits, including his seventh home run of the season. His three-run home run pulled Liberty to within two runs at 7-5 in the seventh inning.
Second baseman Cal Early also added two hits for the Flames. The freshman belted his first collegiate home run in the ninth inning and scored twice.
Liberty drops to 1-1 in CUSA and 17-7 overall. New Mexico State evens its record at 1-1 in CUSA and 12-11 overall.
