
Liberty Topples No. 11 Wake Forest 11-8

After Wake Forest jumped out to a 5-0 advantage in the first two innings, Liberty struck for 11 unanswered runs. The Flames plated four runs in the third inning and seven in the fourth to take the lead.
The Demon Deacons tried to claw their way back into the game, cutting the Flames' lead to 11-8. However, Liberty relievers Josh Swink, Tyler August and Garret McLaughlin shut down Wake Forest over the final three innings to close out the victory.
Flames shortstop Tanner Marsh had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored in the game. He was joined by left fielder Camden Troyer who went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI.
Liberty extends its winning streak to five games, upping its record to 16-6. Wake Forest sees its nine-game winning streak come to an end, dropping to 18-4.
