
Liberty Walks Off New Mexico State on Sorenson’s 2-Run Home Run

LYNCHBURG, VA. – Third baseman Jaxon Sorenson hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Liberty Flames past the New Mexico State Aggies 6-5 Friday in the CUSA opener for both teams at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
After the Aggies broke a 4-4 tie with a run in the top of the ninth, Flames shortstop Tanner Marsh walked with one out, Sorenson followed by blasting a 0-1 pitch over the right field wall for the victory.
Liberty extends its winning streak to a season-high six games. The Flames begin CUSA play 1-0 and move to 17-6 overall. New Mexico State starts CUSA action 0-1 and drops to 11-11 overall.
