Women’s Tennis Returns Home to Face Richmond

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty (6-9) is set for its first home match in exactly one month to take on Richmond (4-4) on Sunday. First serve is set for 1 p.m. from the Liberty Tennis Complex but could be moved to the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center due to weather conditions. In the event the match is moved indoors, the contest will be streamed live via SwingVision.

Liberty is coming off a 1-1 spring break trip in Tampa, Fla. The Lady Flames fell 4-3 to host South Florida on Sunday and upended Gonzaga 4-1 in a neutral-site match on Tuesday.
The trip bookended a stretch of seven consecutive road matches where the team collected a 3-4 record. The Lady Flames last played at home on Feb. 16, falling 7-0 to Michigan State.

The Lady Flames look to improve on a 6-3 all-time record against the Spiders. Liberty currently owns a six-match winning streak against Richmond dating back to April 11, 2014.

Freshman Yu-Yun Chen owns both a four-match singles and a four-match doubles winning streak (with partner Celina Joseph). Her last loss, either singles or doubles, came on Feb. 28 in a doubles match against Charlotte.
Liberty has won the doubles point in four consecutive matches. The team is 5-3 when securing the initial doubles point.
The Lady Flames look to even its home record, currently at 3-4 this spring.
