
2026 CUSA Champs! No. 6 Liberty Claims Conference Title with 4-0 Sweep

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – For the first time in program history, the Liberty Flames women's tennis team is a conference champion. No. 6 Liberty won its fourth match in as many days, claiming the 2026 Conference USA Women's Tennis title with a 4-0 sweep over No. 4 Delaware.
The Lady Flames (16-9) topped No. 11 Missouri State (4-0), No. 3 Kennesaw State (4-1), No. 2 FIU (4-3) and No. 4 Delaware in their improbable title run. They are the first CUSA women's tennis squad to secure the championship with four matches played.
Liberty dominated the doubles round with wins on courts one and two to make a statement and earn the 1-0 advantage. The Lady Flames were victorious in four of six first sets. Liberty earned the title with triumphs from Milana Tsulygina on court four, Anika Lemus on court six and Maria Turchetto clinched the title on court six.
Yoanna Radulova and Maria Turchetto triumphed over Delaware's Maryia Hrynashka and Paulina Jurkowska, 6-1, at No. 1 doubles. Daniella O'Neill and Milana Tsulygina followed suit with a 6-2 win against Amelia Gorman and Navya Vadlamudi at No. 2 doubles.
Tsulygina delivered a 6-3, 6-1 win over Lara Russiniello at No. 4 singles. Lemus followed at No. 6 singles, defeating Hanna Vinahradava 6-2, 6-4. Turchetto clinched the match for the second consecutive day for Liberty at No. 2 singles with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Jurkowska.
The matches at No. 1, No. 3, and No. 5 singles were left unfinished. O'Neill was trailing Hrynashka 4-6, 3-4 at No. 1 singles, Radulova was tied at 5-5 with Gorman in the second set at No. 3 singles, and Celina Joseph was down 6-7(7-9), 1-5 against Vadlamudi at No. 5 singles when play concluded. Liberty's victory was secured with a final dual score of 4-0.
