
Liberty Softball Begins 10-Game Road Swing, Tuesday at Marshall

Coming off of a 12-1 homestand, Liberty takes an eight-game winning streak onto the road for a 10-game road trip. The Lady Flames open the road swing on Tuesday at Marshall. The Thundering Herd (12-11) have won six in a row entering this week's matchup.

- Liberty's last trip to Marshall's Dot Hicks Field was a memorable one. The Lady Flames beat Montana Fouts and No. 13 Alabama 5-3 on April 18, 2023 in Huntington, W.Va.
- 12th-year head coach Dot Richardson earned her 400th career win, Friday against KSU. She joins Paul Wetmore (1994-2013) as coaches in program history with 400 or more career wins.
- Liberty is ranked No. 24 in the Softball America Top 25 Poll this week. The Lady Flames were 25th in the D1Softball.com Top 25 and 24th in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll last week.
- The Lady Flames defeated James Madison 2-1 last Tuesday before sweeping Kennesaw State in its first CUSA series. Liberty outscored the Owls by a combined 26-6.
- Rachel Roupe was named CUSA Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday. She batted 8-for-13 (.615) with three doubles, one homer, eight RBI and three runs scored.
- Elena Escobar was named CUSA Pitcher of the Week on Monday after going 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA, .163 opponents' batting average, one shutout, one save, two walks and 19 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings pitched.
- Alexia Carrasquillo hit her first two career homers on Sunday against KSU, becoming the first Liberty player since Kayla Harris in 2019 to hit each of her first two career homers in the same game.
- KK Madrey bats .455 while ranking seventh nationally with 21 steals. Oregon State transfers Savanah Whatley (.385) and Paige Doerr (.359) have both provided a spark. Savannah Woodard (.365) leads the team with 23 runs scored, while Savannah Jessee bats .308. 2025 CUSA Preseason Player of the Year Rachel Roupe (.351) leads the Lady Flames in doubles (10), homers (5) and RBI (27). 2024 CUSA Tournament MVP Brooke Roberts (.293) is second on the team with 19 RBI, while Brynn McManus hits .296. Campbell transfer Alyssa Henault is 5-for-9 (.556) as a pinch hitter.
- Four different Lady Flames (Allen, Bachman, Escobar, Oubre) have one shutout apiece this season. Senior Paige Bachman is 5-1 with a team-leading 1.60 ERA and 36 strikeouts. Freshman Danner Allen is 2-1 with a 1.81 ERA and a team-best .152 opponents' batting average. 2024 NFCA All-Region second team pitcher Elena Escobar holds a 7-1 record and 1.92 ERA, while Tyler Oubre is 3-0 with a 2.14 ERA. Kaylan Yoder (3-1, 2.88) struck out a career-high 11 batters on Saturday against Kennesaw State.
