
Richardson Announces 8 Liberty Softball Signees

"Overall, the 2026-27 incoming freshman class is one of the most talented groups of student-athletes in program history," Richardson said. "With their high softball IQ, consistency, power and overall competitive zeal, we have high hopes that this class will embody the high standards and help to achieve the high goals set for Liberty University and Liberty softball! They will be fun to watch!"
These eight student-athletes join a team that has gone to the postseason each of the last seven full seasons, including NCAA Regional finals appearances in 2018, 2021, 2023, 2024 and 2025 and 12 total NCAA Regional game victories. This spring, Liberty made its first-ever Super Regional appearance, eliminating No. 1 national seed Texas A&M from the Bryan-College Station Regional.
This upcoming class includes players from Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Oregon and Virginia.
Lydia Anderson (OF, Victoria, Va./Central of Lunenburg High School)
A native of Victoria, Va., Lydia Anderson is a standout in the outfield for Central of Lunenburg High School. Anderson made an immediate impact during her freshman year, batting .508 while earning first team honors at the All-District, All-Region and All-State levels. The following year, she batted .439 on the way to first team All-District and second team All-Region honors. After missing the 2025 season due to injury, she returns to the field for her senior year. Anderson has also competed in volleyball, sideline cheer, competition cheer and basketball while in high school.

Parker Doerr (INF, Corvallis, Ore./South Albany High School)
Parker Doerr will join her sister, current Liberty outfielder Paige Doerr, on the Lady Flames' roster next year. She is a three-time first team All-League infielder, primarily playing shortstop. During her sophomore season, she was named to the 5A All-State team. Doerr also competed in basketball in high school, earning second team All-League honors in 2023. She competed for the NW Bullets in travel softball.
Her sister, Abby Doerr, played softball at both Alabama and Oregon State, while her mom, Melissa Dorman, played softball at Oregon. Her father, Rich Dorman, played professional baseball in the Seattle Mariners organization.
Coach Richardson: "Parker is a force to be reckoned with. At the plate, she will bring power and consistency to our offense. At the corner, she brings stability to the defense. She has played high level softball and knows what it takes to bring her best to be the best!"

Audrey Graham (INF, Flowery Branch, Ga./Cherokee Bluff High School)
Audrey Graham brings strong credentials to Liberty after a four-year career an infielder at Cherokee Bluff High School. A two-time All-State honoree, including first team as a junior, she helped her team to its second straight state runner-up finish this fall. Graham participated in the 2025 GADC All-State Senior Game. She earned first team All-Region honors last year, her third straight All-Region selection, after batting .375 with eight homers and 51 RBI. Last season, she was named Team MVP and received her team's Defensive MVP honor for the second time. For her career, Graham has totaled 19 homers and 116 RBI. The senior was also a two-time all-region player in basketball, helping her team to a state championship as a junior.
Coach Richardson: "Audrey is another special talent. She is a player and individual with unique talents both on and off the field. She is a born leader with a selfless, serving, and Christ-centered focus to impact the lives of others. She brings with her competitive experience at the highest youth travel ball level. She has played with and against the best and knows how to give her best to succeed. She has size, strength and power both on defense and at the plate."

Alaina Griffin (INF, Monroe, N.C./Metrolina Christian Academy)
Alaina Griffin, hailing from Monroe, N.C., will come to Liberty following a strong six-year varsity career. She has played varsity softball since seventh grade, earning All-Conference and All-State honors all five years entering this season. Griffin was a Hot Stove Freshman Player of the Year Finalist (2023), Hot Stove Rising Star recipient (2024) and Hot Stove Golden Glove Award recipient (2025). She has received her team's Defensive Award (2023), Offensive Award (2024) and Coaches Award (2025). The senior is a four-year all-conference player in basketball who has achieved 1,000 career points and 500 career steals.
Her mother, Misty Stevens Griffin, played softball and soccer at Mount Olive College. Her dad, Chad Griffin, was drafted by the Oakland A's before playing in the organizations of the A's and Seattle Mariners. Her brother, Neil Griffin, plays baseball at Wingate.
Coach Richardson: "Alaina is a talented middle infielder who brings a competitive spirit and determination to excel to the program. She is quick, has high softball IQ, solid glove and consistency at the plate. Alaina will bring competitive experience with her and be a leader by example."

Molly Hancock (UTL, Utica, Ky./Daviess County High School)
Molly Hancock hails from Utica, Ky., where she is a starting outfielder for Daviess County High School. As a junior, she batted .440 with a .531 on base percentage, seven home runs and 37 RBI on the way to earning All-State second team, All-District, Academic All-State and 102.7 All-Area Team honors. During her sophomore campaign, she hit .398 with six homers and 31 RBI, receiving All-District, All-Region, Academic All-State and 102.7 All-Area Team awards. Hancock also competed in high school basketball.

Jacely Hogan (INF, Dublin, Ga./West Laurens High School)
A native of Dublin, Ga., Jacely Hogan is a standout shortstop at West Laurens High School after playing her first two years at Dublin High School. She batted .500 as a freshman, sophomore and senior. This season, she was selected for the GADC All-State Games while earning her fourth career first team All-Region award. As a junior, she was selected to compete in the GHSA All-Star Junior Games while also earning first team All-State. She was named her team's MVP and Freshman Player of the Year in 2022. Hogan also competed in soccer all four years of high school and ran track as a freshman. Her team finished third in the state for the 4X400 relay during her freshman year.
Her mom, Brin Hogan, played softball at Georgia College. Her dad, Todd Hogan, played baseball at Middle Georgia College, before being drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals and playing in the Cardinals organization.
Coach Richardson: "Jacely will bring her experience and speed to the outfield and to the plate. She is very athletic and has a consistent stoic presence that you can count on. She has improved every year we have watched her, and we look forward to all she will do for the red, white and blue. Go Flames!"

Makena Petrick (UTL, Hillsboro, Ore./Glencoe High School)
Makena Petrick is an Oregon native, hailing from Hillsboro and playing shortstop for Glencoe High School. A three-time 6A Pacific Conference honoree, including two-time first team selection, Petrick was named 6A Pacific Conference Player of the Year as a sophomore. During her sophomore season, she hit .500 with eight homers, 40 RBI and an .890 slugging percentage. The following year, she batted .386 with a .663 slugging percentage.
Petrick was a three-sport varsity athlete beginning as a freshman. She played varsity volleyball for four years, twice earning second team All-Pacific Conference honors. She competed in three years of varsity basketball, receiving Pacific Conference honorable mention twice.
Her dad, Ben Petrick, was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the second round of the 1995 MLB Draft. He played five seasons in the Major Leagues, with the Colorado Rockies (1999-2003) and Detroit Tigers (2003).
Coach Richardson: "Makena is an all-around athletic talent. Her size, strength and speed makes her one of the most versatile student-athletes Liberty has ever had. We look forward to seeing her leadership on display for the Flames."

Chloe Vaughan (RHP, Pamplin, Va./Appomattox County High School)
Chloe Vaughan comes to Liberty from nearby Appomattox County High School, where she is a standout pitcher and was a high school teammate of current Lady Flame Aubrey Fulcher. As a junior this spring, she posted a 0.70 ERA with 150 strikeouts, tossing two no-hitters. Vaughan was named first team All-District, first team All-Region and second team All-State in 2025, also earning 2025 Dogwood District Pitcher of the Year honors. After receiving the Raider Award as a freshman, she pitched three no-hitters and struck out 40 batters as a sophomore. The senior also competed in varsity volleyball.
Coach Richardson: "Chloe will be a great presence in the circle. She has all the tools from her pitching arm to her competitive mindset that will strengthen our pitching staff. She has the work ethic to become a dominant and consistent force at the highest level. She is one of those pitchers who will inspire others to achieve too."
