
Liberty Set to Host High Point, Longwood This Week

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty women's lacrosse team (2-2) looks to continue its winning streak with a pair of home matches, hosting former Big South rivals High Point (1-1) on Wednesday at 4 p.m. and Longwood (0-2) on Saturday at 3 p.m. Each contest will be streamed live on ESPN+ from the Liberty Lacrosse Field.
The Lady Flames are coming off a 14-13 victory at No. 20 Richmond on Saturday, their highest ranked win in program history. Attacker Taiva Reinertson (4g, 3a) and midfielder Olivia Young (4g) paved the way for Liberty with four goals apiece. Goalkeeper Rachel Hines' play in the crease was vital for Liberty, making 13 saves on 27 shots including four critical stops in the fourth quarter.
Hines was awarded the Atlantic Sun Defensive Player of the Week award for her efforts in the milestone victory. The sophomore has made every start in net this season, collecting a 16.00 goals-against average and a .394 save percentage.
This week's contests will be the second and third home games for Liberty this season. The Lady Flames previously fell 23-1 to No. 4 North Carolina on Feb. 9. Liberty looks to improve on a 3-9 record against High Point and gain the edge in a 6-6 all-time series when facing Longwood.
