Hailing from Charlotte Court House, Va., Allen had a nearly flawless performance at the Liberty Softball Classic, going 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and one save, allowing just two hits and no walks while striking out 13 in 7 ? innings pitched in wins over Saint Joseph's and Hofstra.
On Saturday against Saint Joseph's, she entered the game with the bases loaded and one out in the top of the fifth and Liberty leading 6-1. She allowed one inherited runner to score before retiring the final seven batters she faced in a row, nailing down the save while allowing one hit and striking out five in 2 ? innings pitched.
During Sunday's 8-0, five-inning win over Hofstra, she tossed a one-hitter, striking out a career-high eight batters.
