With the win, the Tigers improve to 11-0 on the season, finishing with a perfect 4-0 record at this weekend's Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational. The Lady Flames (8-3) sustained their third loss in a row after going 2-0 on Friday.

Turning Point
- Auburn scored twice in the bottom of the first, benefiting from three walks, a single and two hit batters. Danner Allen then came on in relief, striking out the final two batters of the inning.
- The Lady Flames threatened in the top of the seventh, getting back-to-back singles from Savannah Jessee and KK Madrey to start the inning. After a groundout, Savannah Woodard got Liberty on the board with a sacrifice fly. SJ Guerin fanned Rachel Roupe, and Auburn escaped with a 2-1 win.
- Liberty outhit Auburn 9-2 for the game. Both teams left seven runners on base. The Lady Flames' led off six out of the seven innings with a single.
- Haley Rainey (2-0) earned the win, allowing six hits while walking one and fanning two in 4 1/3 innings. Guerin claimed her second save, yielding one run on three hits, striking out one in 2 2/3 innings.
- Liberty starter Kaylan Yoder (1-1) drew the loss, allowing two runs on one hit, walking three and hitting two in 1/3 of an inning. Danner Allen pitched 5 2/3 innings of one-hit relief, totaling four walks and a career-high six strikeouts.
- Madison Walker homered twice, driving in three runs, while Kara Daly went 2-for-3 with a homer, one RBI and one run.
- KK Madrey went 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, giving her 12 steals for the season. Savannah Woodard batted 2-for-3 with one RBI, while Paige Doerr went 2-for-3.
- This week, Liberty was ranked 20th on the Softball America top 25 and 24th on the D1Softball.com Top 25. Both Liberty and Auburn were listed among "others receiving votes" on both the NFCA and USA Top 25 polls.
- Auburn is 4-0 all-time in the head-to-head series, with each of the last two meetings coming at the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex.
- The Lady Flames are making their second appearance all-time at the Clearwater Invitational and first since 2020.
- Liberty is 3-2 in one-run games this season.
- The Lady Flames are 5-2 against Power Conference opponents in 2025.
- Madrey recorded her third three-hit game of the season.
- Madrey is now sixth in program history with 55 career stolen bases as a Lady Flame, passing Susan Naylor (1994-96) today.
The Lady Flames return home, where they will play 13 straight games over the next three weeks. The team will host the Liberty Softball Classic, Friday through Sunday at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium.
