NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Liberty swimming & diving team leads Tulane 104-63 after day one of this weekend's two-day dual meet, Friday at Reily Student Recreation Center Natatorium.

- On the evening, Liberty won eight out of nine events, including both relays, three-meter diving and five out of six swimming races.
- Liberty freshman Riley Leach was the only athlete to win multiple individual events today, claiming victory in the 200 fly and 400 IM.
- Liberty posted 1-2 finishes in both three-meter diving (Kayla Walsh, Chloe LaCount) and 100 breaststroke (Aly Bozzuto, Gwyneth Frick).
- Just 0.56 seconds separated the top three swimmers in the 500 free, as Emma Herrera won in 4:57.03, followed by Tulane's Lise Coetzee (4:57.10) and Varvara Gkiouzepa (4:57.59).
- The 100 freestyle was decided by 0.08 seconds, with Tulane's Eliza Lennox winning in 50.94 and Liberty's Kamryn Cannings getting second in 51.02.
- The 200 fly was tightly contested as well, with Liberty's Riley Leach winning in 2:03.59, followed by Tulane's Varvara Gkiouzepa (2:03.85) and Lady Flame Emily Harstad (2:03.96).
- This is the third time Liberty has faced Tulane in swimming & diving, in the third different state (Florida, Virginia, Louisiana).
- Liberty broke two of Tulane's pool records. The Lady Flames' 3:42.36 in the 400 medley relay broke the previous pool record of 3:45.22, set by Denver in 2017. Liberty's 1:33.85 in the 200 free relay lowered the facility record of 1:34.01, set by Tulane in 2024.
- Leach now ranks No. 8 in the 200 butterfly on the program's all-time top 10 performers list with her 2:03.59 tonight.
