After the Lady Flames' Josefina Tomasi tied the score at 1-1 early in the fourth quarter, the Cavaliers' Jans Croon scored on a penalty corner in the 56th minute to secure the victory for the guests.
Liberty suffers its first loss of the 2024 season and falls to 2-1. Meanwhile, Virginia stays unbeaten and improves to 3-0.

Turning Point
UVA held a 1-0 edge after three quarters before Liberty tied the game at 1-all in the 49th minute. Lady Flames freshman Dara Semmartin sent an aerial pass to fellow freshman Josefina Tomasi. Tomasi dribbled to her left inside the circle and fired a shot past Cavaliers goalkeeper Tyler Kennedy for her first career goal at the 48:48 mark.
Virginia earned three penalty corners in the fourth period. The final corner resulted in the game-winning goal from Jans Croon at the 55:41 mark, a bouncing ball that found its way past Liberty netminder Michaela Skinner.
