GREENSBORO, N.C. – The No. 24 Lady Flames were unable to find the back of the net on the road at UNCG, playing to a 0-0 draw result on Sunday afternoon. Liberty ends non-conference play with an unbeaten mark, 8-0-2 following the scoreless draw against the Spartans (1-5-2).
Liberty received strong chances in two moments of the game, both involving Avery Paulson. In the first half, the freshman shot right into the Spartan keeper's legs with the ball was slowly dribbling towards an empty net. A UNCG defender managed to clear the ball just in front of the end-line.
Paulson had a similar chance in the second half after she beat the keeper and pushed a pass to herself towards the end line. The forward released a shot but was cleared by a defender right in front of the goal.
Liberty plays to its second draw of the season. The Lady Flames most recently played to a 1-1 draw at West Virginia on Sept. 8.
