
Liberty Tops Virginia Tech in a Slugfest 13-8

Trailing 4-1 after one inning, the Flames erupted for 11 unanswered runs over the next three innings to take a commanding 12-4 lead and went on to claim the victory.
Liberty scored five runs in the second inning to take a 6-4 advantage, taking the lead on a three-run home run by second baseman Aidan Sweatt and never trailed in the contest after that.
Sweatt had three hits and four RBI in the game. His home run was his fourth of the season. Catcher Macaddin Dye was one of four Flames with two hits in the contest. He drove in three runs. First baseman John Simmons also had two hits, including an inside-the-park home run, and scored three times for Liberty, while Todd Hudson belted his sixth home run.
Liberty closes a five-game homestand with a 4-1 mark. The Flames move to 22-26 overall. Virginia Tech drops to 31-15 on the year.
