
Dallas Baptist Slips Past Liberty 5-2

DALLAS, TEXAS – The Dallas Baptist Patriots topped the Liberty Flames 5-2 Friday evening at Horner Ballpark.
Hits were at a premium during the first six innings as DBU All-American Ryan Johnson and Liberty's Cole Hertzler held their opponents in check.
The Patriots used timely hitting to take advantage of a two-out walk in the first and an error in the third to take a 3-0 advantage.
Liberty cut the lead to 4-2 in the eighth on a two-out, two-run home run by left fielder Brayden Horton, his team-leading 11th of the season. However, the Flames were unable to rally in the ninth.
The Flames drop to 11-8 in CUSA and 22-27 overall on the year. The Patriots move to 13-6 in CUSA and 36-12 overall on the season.
