GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Lady Flames lacrosse team fell 23-3 on the road Wednesday afternoon. The game was held after a short weather delay at the Donald R. Dizney Stadium in Gainesville, Fla.
Florida opened the game with an 11-goal first quarter shutout and scored 14 consecutive goals. The Lady Flames scored back-to-back goals to end the drought. The Gators scored the final six goals of the contest to take home the 23-3 victory.
Kelly Scott led Liberty with two points (one goal, one assist). The Lady Flames split time between two goalkeepers. Mara Tellers started the game, making five saves while allowing 17 goals. Freshman Rachel Hines entered the game at the start of the second half, recording four saves and allowing six goals.
Liberty's Celena Kerr scored her first goal of the season for the Lady Flames' first goal of the game.
