No. 2 Seed Lady Flames Set for Conference USA Championship

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The No. 2 seed and Co-Conference USA Regular Season Champions, Liberty Lady Flames soccer team (14-1-4, 6-1-2 CUSA) prepares for a semifinal matchup against No. 3 seed New Mexico State (11-5-3, 5-2-2 CUSA) on Friday. The contest is set for 4 p.m. at Leyva Field at FIU Soccer Stadium in Miami, Fla. All CUSA Championship games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
With a victory on Friday, the Lady Flames will advance to the CUSA Women's Soccer Championship Title match on Sunday scheduled for 2 p.m.
The Lady Flames seek to defend its 2023 CUSA Championship. Liberty secured a 4-0 triumph over No. 6 seed Louisiana Tech and a 2-1 victory over No. 1 seed New Mexico State to win the title.
Liberty concluded the regular season with a seven-match unbeaten streak (5-0-2) in CUSA play. The Lady Flames previously matched up with New Mexico State on Oct. 2 earlier this season. The contest resulted in a 2-2 draw as the Aggies tied the game with just under 10 minutes remaining. Liberty is 1-1-1 all-time against New Mexico State.

- Liberty showcased a league-leading 10 players with CUSA postseason honors. Ivy Garner, Halle Engle, Kayla Magee headlined the awards by being named to the 2024 CUSA All-Conference first team.
- Gabby Miranda was selected to the second team while Bri Myers and Grace Workman earned spots on the third team. Liberty led the league with three freshmen, Avery Paulson, Haley Noblit and Isabella Wedemeyer, named to the 2024 CUSA All-Freshman team.
