
Lady Flames Close Out Regular Season at WKU

Liberty (13-15, 7-9 CUSA) completes its regular-season schedule, Thursday and Friday at defending CUSA champion Western Kentucky (23-6, 16-0).
- WKU, which clinched the No. 1 seed for the CUSA Volleyball Championship, has won 90 straight regular-season conference matches since a 3-0 loss at North Texas, Oct. 19, 2018.
- Liberty is currently seventh in Conference USA standings, one match behind both Sam Houston and Middle Tennessee. The Lady Flames hold tiebreakers against both teams for seeding.
- The Hilltoppers rank sixth nationally with a .302 hitting percentage. The Lady Flames have posted 12 10-block matches this season and rank second in CUSA with 2.60 blocks per set in league play.
- This week's matches feature Conference USA's top three active career leaders in kills in WKU's Kaylee Cox (1,371) and Liberty's Kamryn Bacus (1,353) and Kate Gammer (1,174). Hilltopper senior Callie Bauer in CUSA's active career leader with 3,593 assists.
- Madison Blane leads Conference USA with 1.42 blocks per set in conference play. She is currently tied for fourth in program history with 431 career blocks and needs 16 more blocks to set a new program single-season rally-scoring record.
- Kate Gammer ranks fourth in Conference USA in both kills per set (3.98) and points per set (4.53) in conference play. She was the first Liberty player since 2016 with five straight double-doubles.
- Erica Lowery is fourth in CUSA with 4.13 digs per set in conference play. Her career-high 30 digs on Nov. 2 tied a Liberty Arena record and were the most by a Lady Flame since 2017.
- JMU transfer Elizabeth Helmich hit .412 with nine kills on Friday against UTEP.
- Liberty nearly pulled off the upset against WKU Oct. 4, 2023 at Liberty Arena. The Lady Flames led 12-11 in set five before the Hilltoppers rallied to win 15-13.
- October 2024 was a milestone month for Liberty Volleyball. On Oct. 13 at Kennesaw State, Kate Gammer scored her 1,000th career kill. On Oct. 25 at New Mexico State, Erica Lowery collected her 1,000th collegiate dig. Madison Blane then posted her 400th career block on Nov. 1.
- Eight times this season, and most recently on Nov. 2 against Sam Houston, three or more Lady Flames have reached double figures in kills in the same match. Liberty is 6-2 in matches where the team has three or more 10-kill players.
- Kate Gammer and Kamryn Bacus have both scored 10 or more kills in the same match 34 times in their careers, including on nine occasions this season. Liberty is 25-9 in those matches.
- Nolan Albrecht is in first season at Liberty and first year as a women's volleyball head coach. He earned his first win at Liberty on Aug. 26, a 3-1 victory over Akron. He served as men's volleyball head coach at Belmont Abbey from 2017 through 2021. He led the Crusaders to a 51-45 overall record, and also guided them to their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in 2021.
