Liberty (11-13, 5-7 CUSA) concludes its stretch of six matches in nine days, hosting Sam Houston (13-10, 8-4), Friday and Saturday at Liberty Arena.
- After missing the CUSA Tournament last year, Sam Houston is tied with New Mexico State for third in conference standings at 8-4. The Lady Flames sit in seventh at 5-7 after losing all four matches on their road trip to New Mexico State and FIU.
- With three weeks left in the regular season, Liberty's final three opponents (Sam Houston, UTEP, Western Kentucky) hold a combined 30-6 CUSA record.
- Liberty posted 13 blocks on Tuesday against FIU, its 10th match of double digit blocks this season after posting nine 10-block matches last year. The Lady Flames rank third in CUSA with 2.24 blocks per set.
- Liberty senior Kate Gammer ranks third in Conference USA in kills per set (3.81) in conference play. She posted back-to-back double-doubles at FIU, giving her eight double-doubles this season and 32 for her career.
- Erica Lowery averages 3.94 digs per set in Conference USA matches, good for sixth in the conference. On Wednesday at FIU, she surpassed 1,000 digs during her time at Liberty.
- Madison Blane ranks fourth in CUSA in blocks per set (1.17) posting five or more blocks in nine out of the last 13 matches. She needs two more blocks to reach 400 career blocks.
- Liberty (Kate Gammer - 3.48, Kamryn Bacus - 3.02) is the only CUSA team with two players who both average 3.0 kills per set or more this season. Sam Houston and Louisiana Tech are the two CUSA teams without a single player averaging 3.0 kills per set.
- Freshman Paige Overcash scored 10 kills on Wednesday, her fourth 10-kill match of the season and first since Sept. 27 at Louisiana Tech.
- After falling to FIU in reverse sweep fashion on Wednesday, Liberty is 3-3 in five-set matches this season, including 1-2 in Conference USA matches that have gone a full five sets.
- October 2024 was a milestone month for Liberty Volleyball. On Oct. 13 at Kennesaw State, Kate Gammer scored her 1,000th career kill. On Oct. 25 at New Mexico State, Erica Lowery collected her 1,000th collegiate dig. Madison Blane will likely post her 400th career block to start November.
- Liberty had lost the first set in seven straight matches prior to winning set one at FIU, Wednesday. The Lady Flames are 6-2 when winning the first set and 5-11 when their opponent wins the first set.
- Seven times this season, and most recently on Oct. 19 at Kennesaw State, three or more Lady Flames have reached double figures in kills in the same match. Liberty is 5-2 in matches where the team has three or more 10-kill players.
