
Lady Flames Race Past Blue Raiders in 4 Sets

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Behind a career-high 26 kills from Kate Gammer, Liberty rallied for a 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-23) win over Middle Tennessee, Saturday at Liberty Arena.
The Lady Flames and Blue Raiders split this weekend's series, with Middle Tennessee winning in straight sets last night.
Liberty (11-9, 5-3 CUSA) snaps its three-match winless streak, while Middle Tennessee (9-13, 5-5) saw its winning streak snapped at three matches.

The Lady Flames will play four matches in six days, starting with contests at New Mexico State, Friday and Saturday. Liberty will then fly to Miami to play at FIU the following Tuesday (Oct. 29) and Wednesday (Oct. 30).

- Gammer added two aces, 19 digs and three blocks to her 26 kills, good for her 30th career double-double and sixth this season. Charli Crowson tied her career high with 34 assists and added 10 digs for her second career double-double. Erica Lowery collected 17 digs, while Carly O'Brien totaled 11 digs. Madison Blane posted a match-high seven blocks for Liberty.
- Adriana Rhoda scored 18 kills to lead Middle Tennessee, while Kiera Booth totaled 11 kills, six digs and five blocks. Andi Spies contributed a match-high 43 assists, seven kills and 10 digs, while Laure Jansen collected a match-high 20 digs and Alivia Bronner totaled 14 digs.
- After falling to Middle Tennessee 25-21 in set one, Liberty rebounded during the second set. Kate Gammer had an astounding 11 kills during the second set alone, including the set-clinching kill.
- The Lady Flames took set three, 25-19, but trailed the fourth set, 22-20. Still trailing, 23-22, Liberty reeled off the final three points in a row, including a Blane/Gammer block followed by a Blane kill to end it.
- Middle Tennessee leads Liberty 4-2 in the all-time series, going 3-1 against the Lady Flames since Liberty joined Conference USA last year.
- Liberty set a season high with 76 digs, getting 10 or more digs from four different players.
