
Liberty Pulls Away for 6-1 Win at UNF in Game 1

Liberty used a four-run sixth inning to pull away for a 6-1 win over North Florida in game one of a doubleheader, Friday at UNF Softball Complex.
The Lady Flames (23-13, 8-2 ASUN) extended their winning streak to five games with the victory, while the Ospreys (19-16, 2-8) sustained their sixth straight setback.

Notable Numbers
- Liberty outhit UNF 8-4 for the game, while the Ospreys committed one error. North Florida left six runners on base, while the Lady Flames stranded five.
- Liberty’s defense shone throughout the game, with diving plays by Rachel Roupe, Mary Claire Wilson and Megan Fortner all making the highlight reel.
- Karlie Keeney (15-6) earned her 15th win of the season, allowing one run on four hits, walking three and striking out four.

- UNF broke up Keeney’s no-hit and shutout bids in the fourth, scoring one run on three hits to narrow the gap to 2-1. However, the Ospreys managed just one hit the rest of the way while the Lady Flames pulled away with a four-run sixth inning.

- Liberty leads the all-time series against UNF 10-2, winning each of the last six meetings. The Lady Flames are 10-0 all-time at UNF Softball Complex, including 3-0 during their run to the 2022 ASUN Softball Championship title. Liberty defeated UNF 9-0 in the conference title game last year, clinching its second straight ASUN title.
