Liberty Welcomes WKU for CUSA Showdown

Liberty (7-7, 0-2 CUSA) returns home for the first time in over a month, hosting perennial CUSA power Western Kentucky (12-4, 2-0), Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Liberty will look to snap a seven-match winless streak, while the Hilltoppers bring a seven-match winning streak to Lynchburg.
- WKU has not lost a regular-season Conference USA match since Oct. 19, 2018, bringing a 70-match regular-season CUSA winning streak into this week.
- Both Liberty (at No. 23 Hawai'i) and WKU (vs. No. 12 Marquette) picked up wins over Top 25 programs this year. WKU has been in the AVCA Top 25 three times this season and was listed among others receiving votes this week.
- This week's matches feature the 2023 CUSA Preseason Player of the Year (WKU's Paige Briggs), the 2022 ASUN Setter of the Year (Liberty's Delaney Dilfer) and the 2022 Coach of the Year from both the ASUN (Trevor Johnson) and CUSA (Travis Hudson).
- Kamryn Bacus averages 3.84 kills per set, second in CUSA to WKU's Paige Briggs, and 4.61 points per set. She scored a career-high 25 kills in Liberty's win at No. 23 Hawai'i and has 499 kills as a Lady Flame.
- Madison Blane paces all CUSA players in blocks per set (1.27) and is second in hitting percentage (.399). She has posted eight blocks in a match twice this year.
- Delaney Dilfer was named CUSA Setter of the Week on Aug. 28. She dished out a season-high 51 assists at Hawai'i on Sept. 7, adding 14 digs. Dilfer led all players in assists (34), digs (10) and aces (3) last Friday at Middle Tennessee.
- Kate Phillips is tied for second in CUSA in conference-only kills per set (3.71) and has reached double-figures in kills in each of her last three matches.
